- Current copyright law: Anything you create is protected by copyright from the moment its created.

- Under Orphan Works legislation: Nothing you create will be copyrighted unless you register it with commercial registries (which do not exist yet, and there will be more than one and it doesn't seem like there's a cap to how many the country is allowing them to sprout. I have the impression they work like image banks, just that now it will freaking own every single soul on this planet instead of you making the choice to sell stock images).

That is actually not what it means at all ~ there is way more to it, and at this point, it's not even very relevant, since it was proposed in 2006, shot down, and then nothing has happened to it. Plus, it's in the US, so people in other countries would still have their personal countries protection (which, oddly enough, is usually less than what the US's current stance on copyrights are, so... yeah... ^^;)

Hum, pas lu mais... Effectivement, le net ne laisse pas place aux frontières, et même il se croit totalement aux dessus des lois de n'importe quel pays ^^ Donc que la loi des US change ou non... Les gens n'en changeront pas leur comportement (qui est souvent peu respectueux, c'est clair)

Sur le plan strictement légal en France on reste bien protégé, le plus difficile étant de prouver que TON oeuvre est bien l'original... Malheureusement, ça, c'est souvent payant -__-"

Oui, parce que même avec une signature où un nom rajouté sur l'image ou le dessin, on peut toujours dire que c'est toi qui l'a rajouté ensuite mais que ça ne t'appartient pas... En gros, si jamais tu veux prouver que quelque chose t'appartient, dans tous les cas il faut payer >> *You-pi*

Le moyen le plus économique, c'est de t'envoyer à toi même une enveloppe avec tes dessins. De préférence, met du bon gros scotch sur l'ouverture. Si tu ne l'ouvres pas, le cachet de la poste peut faire foi. Mais je crois que c'est pas 100% fiable face à un tribunal, puisque la seule preuve irréfutable c'est l'huissier. Enfin ce serait quand même d'une mauvaise foi sans nom...

Oui bien sur,je connais cette technique.
Si rien n'a été ouvert, s'il y a le cachet de la Poste avec la date, ils ne peuvent pas le refuser comme preuve (je me suis renseignée il y a quelques années quand papa batifolait avec madame Justice >> ).
